Authentic details
The IJsselbuurt is located in the Zuid district. Just like the Nieuwe Pijp district, it was built in the style of the Amsterdam School with many authentic details in the residential blocks. Many of these blocks are designated monuments. The IJsselbuurt has a high percentage of small houses and its residents have a lower average household income than in the whole of Zuid. However, more well-educated people live in these neighbourhoods than on average in Amsterdam. With the average age of residents between 25 and 44, they are generally single-person households.
Shopping and dining
The shopping streets run right through the IJsselbuurt, which means the neighbourhood has something for everyone. As the IJsselbuurt is located on the Amstel river, you can easily hire a boat and experience Amsterdam from the water. At Cafe Blek you can grab a nice breakfast or late-night snack, or stop by Restaurant Betty's for a vegetarian meal. In the surrounding neighbourhoods such as Nieuwe Pijp and Diamantbuurt, there is also a wide selection of attractions.

For public transport, you don't have to walk far. And by tram and/or bus you can be at Amstel Station within 5 minutes. Furthermore, by car you can quickly reach the A10 motorway. Within a radius of 3km, you will find an average of 99 nurseries, 40 primary schools, 19 VMBO schools and 21 HAVO/VWO schools.

The IJsselbuurt is part of the Rivierenbuurt in Amsterdam-Zuid. An ideal neighbourhood for growing from a starter to a family home. The neighbourhood offers the necessary diversity for a dynamic living environment and plenty of space for family life. The spacious, chic flats, mostly in the style of the Amsterdam School, make the Rivierenbuurt very popular.
